Letter of Recommendation forPacific Commercial ConstructionThe letter below was written for a specific congregation currently considering PCC as their contractor. It is reproduced here as a general letter of reference. Link to PCC. 4 Feb 2010
Father C. and our Brothers and Sisters in Christ at St. E. Roman Catholic Church Grace and Peace to you as you begin your new Parish Hall. I am glad to see that our local congregations are growing and fulfilling the mandate of the Gospel. We at King of Kings Lutheran Church in Oceanside are just completing work on our new Parish Hall and look forward to many exciting opportunities in the future. I heard about your new Parish Hall when M. N., the loca sales representative for Brinks/Broadview, mentioned that his congregation was also about to build a new Parish Hall. I also mentioned to him that St. E. would be wise to interview our contractor, Pacific Commercial Construction (PCC) as one of its possible bidders. We began working with PCC almost a year ago when we selected them from 5 construction companies that we interviewed. Their presentation and the knowledge of their staff far outshone the others. Jim Bruno, the owner and J. Ward, our project manager were able to answer every question we had honestly and openly. The fact that PCC had both the best price and the best presentation made our selection by the 12 member committee both instantaneous and unanimous. After selecting PCC as our builder they began to work with our architect to finalize the drawings. Working together PCC and our architect shaved two months off the schedule and almost $100,000 off the cost of the project. Our total build time from demolition of the old buildings to opening of the new building is 9 months and the total cost of the project is approximately $1,100,000. From the moment that they arrived and set up the construction fence their work has been professional and of the best quality. They communicate with us on a weekly basis about the status of the project and the work that will take place the next week. During the construction we have had 3 funerals in the middle of the day and PCC has halted all work during that time out of respect for our memorial service. Once a month, they conduct site walkthroughs for the entire congregation and are on hand to answer questions and show the progress. In our congregation, we have several construction workers, journeyman carpenters, electricians, etc. When we have our monthly tours they all comment on the high quality of the construction work being done by PCC and its subcontractors. I too have noticed the attention to detail that makes all the difference between mediocre and high quality. One important thing to mention is the high level of professionalism shown by PCC and its subcontractors. The new construction is in the midst of our campus and we have Church members parking just yards from the construction site. They often peek through the construction fence to see what is happening with the new Parish Hall. I too go out 3 to 4 times a day just to peek over the fence. Never, not even once, has there been yelling or profanity or loud music or anything else that would be offensive. If anything, the workers will politely acknowledge that you are standing there with a wave or tip of their construction hat. The site manager K. Steinmetz is always professional and courteous. As a fellow believer, I can see that K. gives extra attention to this Church building because its purpose is dear to his heart. Likewise, I cannot find words worthy of recommending J. Ward, our project manager. She is knowledgeable, positive, and dedicated. She and her staff have spent countless hours working with our Church lender to get the paperwork and financing straight. She is available for our evening building committee meeting and has great insight into the selection of non-construction items like carpet, kitchen equipment, chairs, tile, etc. Her suggestions have substantially lowered costs while improving the end quality of our building. In summary, I would give Pacific Commercial Construction the highest recommendation possible. If you would like to discuss this in person or come over and see a PCC construction site in progress, please call me or arrange a date through PCC. I would love to show you our new building and find out more about your exciting Parish Hall project. I am certain that if you chose Pacific Commercial Construction that you would find their work to be worthy of a new Church facility. If you have any questions about PCC, please call me at the Church. In Christ’s Service,
Pastor James Jerpseth, King of Kings Lutheran Church
