Faith is a full life,
liberating us to live with daring confidence in God’s grace.
We who are the members of King of King’s Lutheran Church believe in the Triune God—the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Creator-Redeemer-Sustainer gives us the power to live joyfully and confidently in His grace. It is a relationship where God’s promise of steadfast love and mercy in Jesus opens us to a life of trust in Him and generous service to those we know and meet in daily life.
As members of the ELCA, we express our faith in the Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds, in the Lutheran confessional writings (collected as the Book of Concord), and in the ELCA Confession of Faith.
We hold to the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments. We listen to the witness of others and we watch for the ways God is active in the world around us. Faith opens a place for engaging others in conversation, for seeking the truth, for asking questions and speaking the truth of love in word and deed.
THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, who suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
